Iranian oil exports to Turkey rise 9% to 3.339 mt in seven months

TEHRAN: Iran’s exports of crude oil to Turkey rose by 9 percent to 3.339 million tons in the first seven months of 2015, according to the EU statistics agency.

The report says Turkey imported 3.056 million tons of crude oil from its oil-rich neighboring country in the period between January and July in 2014.

As the only refinery of Turkey, Tüpras falls back upon Iran for more than one-third of its crude oil demand.

According to the report, in July 2015, Turkey’s imports of crude oil from Iran stood at 444 thousand tons, down 6 percent and 8 percent, respectively, compared with June 2015 and July 2014.

In June 2015, Turkey imported some 482 tons of crude oil from Iran relative to its import of 475 thousand tons in June 2014.
