Iran’s Non-Oil Trade With Canada Tops $110m

Iran traded 75,184 tons of non-oil commodities worth $113 million with Canada in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2019) to register a 40.09% growth in tonnage and 30.46% decline in value compared with the year before, latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.

Iran’s exports to Canada stood at 34,483 tons worth $33.38 million, up 201.69% in tonnage and down 51% in value year-on-year.

Canada was Iran’s 46th export destination during the year.

Iran mainly exported floorings, copper, pistachios and dates to Canada during the 12-month period.

In return, Canada exported 40,701 tons of goods worth $79.55 million to Iran, down 3.64% and 15.63% in tonnage and value respectively YOY. Canada was the 38th exporter of goods to Iran during the year.

The imports mainly included lentil, wood pulp, chemicals and machinery.
