TEHRAN: Economic studies showed that Iran’s South Pars phase 12 will bring $10 billion annually and more than three percent of country’s Gross domestic product (GDP).
Rasoul Fallahnejad, project manager of the phase 12, has said that phase 12 will inject about 75 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas into the national gas network per annum.
During a ceremony attended by President Rouhani, South Pars Phase 12 as the country’s most ambitious gas project was inaugurated in Kangan County, Bushehr Province.
The South Pars gas field covers an area of 9,700 square kilometers, 3,700 square kilometers of which are in Iran’s territorial waters in the Persian Gulf.
The remaining 6,000 square kilometers, i.e. North Dome, are in Qatar’s territorial waters.
