IRAO Afzal Malik censured

ISLAMABAD: Muhammad Afzal Malik, IRAO (BS-17), posted at Regional Tax Office, Faisalabad, has been censured.

The disciplinary proceedings were initiated under Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973 against the officer, while, Nazia Zaib Ali, Additional Commissioner-IR (BS-19), RTO, Rawalpindi, was appointed as Inquiry Officer to probe into the charges levelled against Muhammad Afzal Malik.

According to inquiry report, the charges levelled against the accused officer were partially established. Based on the findings of the Inquiry Officer, a show-cause notice was served upon the accused IRAO, who filed written reply to the notice and requested for personal hearing which was granted. The accused officer attended the hearing.

After having gone through facts of the case, relevant record as well as written and verbal explanations made by Muhammad Afzal Malik, Member (Admin) being Authorised Officer imposed minor penalty of ‘censure’ upon the officer.
