BAGHDAD: Iraq’s oil exports from its southern ports fell to 3.2 million barrels per day (bpd) in May, the oil ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
The oil ministry only publishes exports figures from the south, as oil sales from its the northern Kirkuk oilfields have been halted since March. The northern Kurdish regional government exports crude independently from the oil ministry in Baghdad. The ministry did not give a reason for the decline from April’s level of 3.364 million bpd.
Iraq reaped $3.745 billion in revenue from oil exports in May, selling the barrel at an average price of $37.7, the ministry said. May’s revenue is higher than April as oil prices increased.
