BAGHDAD: Iraq’s State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) has made its first shipment in more than a year from the Turkish Mediterranean port of Ceyhan, finally implementing the latest deal between the federal government and semi-autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to boost exports.
Around 250,000 barrels of Iraqi crude were sent by pipeline Sunday to the Tupras refinery in Kirikkale, terminal status reports from Ceyhan showed Tuesday. This was the first time it has supplied the refinery since August 2015. The Aegean Harmony, a tanker nominated by BP, is expected to load Tuesday, taking 600,000 barrels of Kirkuk crude.
