DUBLIN: Three men have been arrested after heroin worth €600,000 was seized in Dublin.
The men, aged 22, 34, and 40 were arrested after gardaí stopped and searched two cars at Newlands Cross at around 7.30pm.
The men are being questioned at Clondalkin Garda Station.
The operation was part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the Kildare region and cocaine and cannabis were seized in a number of follow-up searches in Kildare and Dublin.
Around €900,000 worth of drugs have been seized in the investigation so far.
In a separate operation targeting criminal activity in Dundalk, five people were arrested after drugs, ammunition and a large quantity of case was found during a planned search of a premises in the O’Hanlon Park area of the town this morning.
Four men, aged between 19 and 52, and a 48-year-old woman are being held at Dundalk and Drogheda Garda stations.
Gardaí said the cocaine and cannabis herb found have an estimated street value of €100,000.
