DUBLIN: A pensioner was arrested at Dublin Airport after 1.9 kilos of cocaine was found in his luggage.
The drugs were discovered in the 75-year-old US citizen’s luggage who arrived on a flight from Charles De Gaulle Airport in France.
Officers from Revenue’s Customs Service seized the cocaine with a street value of approximately €133,000 in an intelligence-led operation yesterday.
The man was arrested and is currently being questioned by Gardaí.
The seizure is the second big haul for Revenue in recent weeks after €4million worth of cigarettes were discovered at Dublin Port last month.
The eight million cigarettes were discovered in a Latvian registered truck and trailer disembarking a ship, which had sailed from Rotterdam.
