Ireland customs seizes 11.2 kilo cocaine Dublin Port

DUBLIN: The 11.2 kilo consignment was discovered on a freight vehicle during a joint operation involving the Revenue and the Garda.

One man, aged 38, has been arrested as part of the investigation.

He is being held at Store Street Garda station in central Dublin on suspicion of drug trafficking offences.

Under section two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, the suspect can be questioned for up to seven days.

The cocaine, believed to have a street value of 784,000 euro, has been sent for forensic analysis.

It was discovered on the freight vehicle as it disembarked a ferry yesterday at Dublin Port.
