DUBLIN: The cocaine was found at the Port of Cork, after a routine examination of containers that had arrived on a vessel from Central America. It had a street value in excess of €1.75m. An investigation is underway.
Separately, 14.5 tonnes of partially processed tobacco was seized in Dublin Port , with a value of €86,847.
Tobacco dog Casey examined the container which had come from the Port of Rotterdam.
If finished and sold, the tobacco would have had a retail value of €7.1m, including taxes.Investigations are also ongoing into this discovery with a view to prosecution.
