DUBLIN: Revenue officers seized 20,000 smuggled cigarettes and seven kilograms of tobacco in Dundalk yesterday.
Gardaí were called to the scene when herbal cannabis and cannabis resin worth €63,000, and €20,000 in cash, were also found.
No arrests were made and investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.
The cigarettes and tobacco, branded “Excellence” and “Flandria” respectively, represent a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €11,000.
