In his company outlook, Cpl chairman John Hennessey said Britain’s decision to leave the European Union presented both opportunities and challenges.

In the year to June, group gross profit increased by 19% to €70.1m (£59m) and adjusted profit before tax was up 22% to €17.4m (£14.7m). The company said demand had risen for both permanent and temporary roles, up 21% and 18% respectively.

Aine Brolly, head of Cpl in Northern Ireland, added that the results “reflect Cpl’s ambition and commitment to grow its market share”.
