DUBLIN: Irish police Gardaí have seized a mix of cannabis herb, cocaine, and ecstasy and prescription drugs worth of €460,000 and clutched two smugglers here the other day.
Two men, (39) and (33), were arrested and are currently detained at Ballymun Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
The drugs were seized during a planned search of two vehicles in the Finglas area here the other day.
Gardai carried out the raid with the assistance of the local community.
Gardai use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks in these operations.
Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities, a garda spokesperson said.
Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality, the spokesperson added.
