ISLAMABAD: The Inland Revenue (IRS), Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) and ex-cadre officers have been directed to submit their Performance Evaluation Reports (PERs) as per the schedule.

According to the schedule, Reporting Officer will have to submit report by 20th July, and Countersigning Officer by 31st July. However, the notifications said that PERs of a large number of officers not only for the year ending on 30.06.2014 but also for the previous years, have not been received as yet by the Board despite repeated reminders to the concerned officers as well as to the Reporting/ Countersigning Officers.

It added that in the absence of up-to-date PERs, the performance evaluation of officers due for promotion or mandatory trainings (i.e. NDU/NMC/ SMC/ MCMC) etc. cannot be properly judged and such cases are thus considerably delayed or deferred for want of PERs.

The competent authority has directed that PERs for the year ending on 30.06.2014 as well as awaited PERs of previous years, if any, in respect of officers of IRS, PCS and ex-cadre, particularly those BS-18/19/20 officers whose cases of promotion are likely to be taken up in the next meetings of DSB/CSB, may be submitted to the Board (ERM-I Section) latest by March 31, 2015.

In order to monitor the PERs, a statement as per Annex-A has been designed to be prepared and submitted by the Head of Departments of field formations of IRS/PCS to the ERM-I Section FBR (HQ), Islamabad immediately and by the end of July every year.
