IRSA releases 228,000 cusecs water

ISLAMABAD: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) Wednesday released 228,000 cusecs water from various rim stations with inflow of 181,700 cusecs.

According to the data released by IRSA, water level in the Indus River at Tarbela Dam was 1538.70 feet, which was 158.70 feet higher than its dead level 1380 feet. Water inflow in the dam was recorded as 110,400 cusecs while outflow 140,000 cusecs.

The water level in Jhelum River at Mangla Dam was 1228.35 feet, which was 178.35 feet higher than its dead level of 1040 feet whereas the inflow and outflow of water was recorded as 13,300 cusecs and 30,000 cusecs respectively.

The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 145,600, 137,900 and 61,900 cusecs respectively.  Similarly, from the Kabul River a total of 19,100 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 8,000 cusecs released from the Chenab River at Marala.
