IRSA releases 242,500 cusecs water from various rim stations

ISLAMABAD: Indus River System Authority (IRSA) Wednesday released 242,500 cusecs water from various rim stations with inflow of 301,800 cusecs.

According to the data released by IRSA, water level in the Indus River at Tarbela Dam was 1419.65 feet, which was 39.65 feet higher than its dead level of 1,380 feet.  Water inflow in the dam was recorded as 134,500 cusecs while outflow recorded as 100,000 cusecs.

The water level in the Jhelum River at Mangla Dam was 1136.80 feet, which was 96.80 feet higher than its dead level of 1040 feet whereas the inflow and outflow of water was recorded as 64,800 and 40,000 cusecs respectively.

The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 130,000, 75,900 and 13,000 cusecs respectively.  Similarly, from the Kabul River, a total of 48,900 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 27,200 cusecs released from the Chenab River at Marala.
