ISAF seizure case: Customs arrests another accused; takes 5-days remand

KARACHI: Customs Investigation & Intelligence team of the ISAF containers’ seizure case has got some new leaks which would certainly provide them headway in their investigation. This time one more arrest has been made.

The arrested person, Saad Zulfiquar is reportedly a General Manager of DP World Port Qasim.

The accused Saad Zulfiquar was presented before the Special Judge of Customs & Taxation. The judge gave 5-days remand to the investigating team of the Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigation Karachi region.

The investigators are interrogating the accused person and reportedly are asking Saad to handover the transcription report of scanned images besides other queries.

Sources, close the Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigation are expecting some sensational disclosures soon. They were of the view that in the past none of the case was brought to its logical end but this case would make history soon, they added further.

Moreover, a staffer of the Directorate of Transit Trade posted at the exit has also been summoned for his statement and other records.

He has been asked to submit complete record before the investigating team.
