Islamabad ASO seizes contraband items worth Rs106m in first quarter FY 201-17

ISLAMABAD: With Special instruction of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Model Customs Collectorate, Islamabad seized different type of goods under value of Rs106.23 million during first quarter of financial year 2016-17.

According to details told by Deputy Collector Shahid Jan that ASO Islamabad is working on high moral ground because it has been exceed its target of first quarter of FY16-17.

He said that ASO under supervision of Collector Dr.Arslan working with very sophisticated techniques using model vehicles and other facilities, he adding that during the first quarter of financial year 2016-17 the ASO perform actively against evader and smugglers.

He said that in the impounded items included cloths, food grains, black tea, tires/tubes, auto parts, oil, cigarettes, electronic goods, blankets, and miscellaneous goods, he further said that ASO also impound 5 non duty paid vehicles (NDP) and 6 offending vehicles during said period.

Shahid said that during in July FY 16-17 the ASO seized smuggled goods worth Rs23.930 million as for as during month of August value of seized items was Rs31.338 million and during month of September FY16-17 ASO seized smuggled goods under value of Rs50.962 million.

He said that ASO also seized 5 non –duty paid vehicles during first quarter of 2016-17 the total value of said vehicle were Rs12.702 million, he further said that ASO also impound 6 offending vehicle during said period the total value of offending vehicles were Rs18.60 million.

He said that the department will achieve its target for October 2016-17 as it excel the target of first quarter of current financial year.
