Islamabad car cell impounds vehicle valued Rs6.5m

ISLAMABAD: The Special Car Cell Islamabad has impounded a non-duty-paid smuggled Toyota Mark II Grande car worth Rs6.5million.

On a tip-off that a smuggled Toyota Mark II car with registration No: AJR-500 Sindh, Modelled 2000 (2491 CC), is parked at Waqar Auto Workshop at G-9 Markaz Islamabad. The staff of the car cell rushed to the spot and found the vehicle parked in the parking area of said auto workshop.

To a query from Waqar Auto Workshop, it has been informed that owner of the car parked the vehicle there and went to the market for purchase of battery. After waiting for over two hours, nobody came to claim the ownership therefore Intelligence Officer Gul Nawaz took the vehicle into possession in the presence of the witnesses and shifted the car to headquarters by lifter. The record of the vehicle was not available.
