Islamabad collectorate collects 123pc more revenue

ISLAMABAD: Model Custom Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad has succeeded in achieving the revenue target during the first quarter of the current fiscal year by collecting 123 percent more revenue.

As per detail, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) assigned a target of Rs 1.861 billion to the collectorate, while the MCC collected Rs 4.145 million. On the other hand, the MCC had failed to achieve the target during the corresponding period of the last fiscal year 2013-14.

The MCC collected Rs 1.27 billion as customs duty against the set target RS 629 million during the first quarter that is 155 percent more than last year’s collections. Moreover, the MCC collected Rs 1.976 billion sales tax which is 200 percent more than the first quarter collection of Rs 658 million of last year.

In case of withholding tax, the MCC Islamabad collected Rs 819 million crossing the set target of Rs 453 million that was 98 percent more than the last year.
