Islamabad Customs collects Rs 724m from dry port

ISLAMABAD: The Model Custom Collectorate collected Rs 724.78 million in wake of duty/taxes during May of the current fiscal year 2015-16 from Islamabad Dry Port.

Assistant Collector Amanat Ali Khan told Custom Today that the tax collection target of Rs 6,433 million assigned by the Federal Board of Revenue for running financial year will be achieved easily.

In May, the dry port collected Rs 313.037 million as customs duty and Rs 203.722 million in the shape of sales tax, the assistant collector added.

Under the head of income tax, it collected Rs 92.488 million, while Rs 115.539 million were generated in wake of federal excise duty during the said period, he further informed.

Amanat Ali Khan said that the Islamabad Customs was working efficiently under the supervision of Collector Dr Arslan Subuctageen, who is aiming at achieving the targets of current fiscal year.
