Islamabad Customs earns extra revenue of Rs5876m in 11 months

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Collectorate earned extra revenue of Rs5876 million under all heads during first 11 months (July to May) of Fiscal Year 2017-18 whereas it earned extra revenue Rs 6777 million under same heads during the same period of corresponding FY16-17.

Official sources while talking with Customs Today said that during first 11 months of FY17-18 the MCC earned Rs 19216 million under all heads against assigned revenue collection target of Rs 13340 million. Sources added that MCC received Rs 12439 million under same heads during the same period of last Financial Year.

The sources said that MCC received Rs 6509 million under head of customs duty (CD) against assigned revenue collection target of Rs 5772 million during first 11 months of FY17-18 whereas it received Rs.5114 million under same head during the correspondence period.

The revenue of Rs 8851 million collected under head of sales tax against assigned revenue collection target of Rs 4523 million for first 11 months of FY7-18 while it fetched Rs 4486 million under same head during the corresponding period of FY16-17, sources added.

The sources said that MCC received Rs 3251 million under head of income tax (IT) against assigned revenue target of Rs 2552 million during initial 11 months of FY17-18 whereas the MCC Islamabad received Rs 2388 million during same period of FY16-17.

The Collectorate earned Rs.604 million under head of federal excise duty (FED) during July to May FY17-18 against assigned revenue collection target of Rs 491 million. The sources added that MCC earned Rs.451 million under same head during last Fiscal Year.

It is necessary to mention here that MCC Islamabad showed 27% achievement under head of CD, 97% achieved in ST, 36% achieved in IT while demonstrated 34% achievement under head of FED and showed 54% achievement under all heads during 11 months of FY17-18 against same period of corresponding year.
