ISLAMABAD: Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Federal Board of Revenue Rawalpindi, has auctioned off 16 lots, including non-duty-paid smuggled cars, Foreign Origin cloths, tyres, steel nails and chemicals for paint, and earned Rs16.714million revenue.
Under the direction of Federal Board of Revenue and instruction of Director General Shaukat Ali, Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigation, FBR Rawalpindi, has conducted a public auction for confiscated goods and vehicles of state warehouse. The auction has been carried out at the state warehouse at sector G-12/4 Islamabad.
Directorate had offered total 33 lots for auction including 14 vehicles and 19 other miscellaneous goods. At the auction, 16 lots were approved, including 10 non-duty-paid smuggled vehicles including Honda Civic, Mitsubishi Lancer, Toyota Mark X, Toyota Crown 2 Nos, Mercedes Benz and Toyota Fielders, and six other items included smuggled foreign cloths, tyres, steel nails (Made in Korea) and chemicals for paint. The whole process of the auction was conducted in a transparent manner under the supervision of Director Customs I&I Rawalpindi Irfan-ur-Rehman and Deputy Director Afzal Wattoo. Over a dozen participants from public and commercial sectors took part in the auction.
