Islamabad Customs generates Rs143m through auction in 2nd quarter

ISLAMABAD: The Customs auction cell collected revenue Rs143 million during 2nd quarter (October-December) of financial year (FY) 2016-17, the auction cell hold three successful auctions during said period.

According to details told by sources of auction cell that it held two auctions of non-duty paid vehicles including offending vehicle and various kind of smuggled items during the month of December FY2016-17.

The auction cell held first Auction on December 26 FY16-17 and collected amount Rs48 million through this public auction adding that, the auction cell hold another Auction during same month on December 07 collected Rs42 million through this auction of confiscated vehicles and smuggled goods.

Sources said that during the month of October FY16-17 the auction cell hold another auction of impounded vehicles and smuggled goods and collected revenue amounting Rs53 million.

The sources said that Collector Dr.Arslan showed his satisfaction on performance of auction department and asked them to make more efforts to meet the target of 2nd half of current financial year 2016-17.
