Customs Export recovers evaded tax from two companies

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Export recovered evaded tax money from M/s Al-Hira Enterprises and M/s Arif and Sons in response of final show cause notice issued in the 2nd week of December 2016.

MCC Export also issued notice to another company M/s Suleman Hudabia Corporation during first week of January 2017.

According to details, MCC issued notices to M/s Al-Hira Enterprises and M/s Arif and Sons directing them to deposit evaded tax amount within fortnight otherwise stern action will be taken against the company.

M/s Al-Hira Enterprises requested for another 15 days and cleared outstanding tax amount of Rs 545, 000 in the first week of January 2017. M/s Arif and Sons also deposited evaded tax amount of Rs 160, 000.

M/s Al-Hira Enterprises was notified due to wrong usage of PCT heading to get clearance of four consignments of handicrafts in October 2016. M/s Arif and Sons availed undue benefits and concessions by using wrong SRO 567 to get clearance of a garments consignment.

MCC Export issued a tax notice to M/s Suleman Hudabia Corporation directing them to deposit Rs 282, 000 as early as possible otherwise their bank accounts will be attached.
