Islamabad customs impounds NDP Mercedes Benz priced Rs8.5m

ISLAMABAD: The directorate of customs intelligence and investigation, federal board of revenue Rawalpindi, impounded a non-duty-paid smuggled Mercedes Benz worth Rs8.5million.

On a tip-off that a smuggled vehicle Mercedes Benz Motor car Modelled 2006 with fake registration plate No. ABZ-757 (ICT Islamabad) is plying near Attock Petroleum F-11 Markaz Islamabad. The anti-smuggling staff of the Rawalpindi directorate reached there. The vehicle was being driven by Raja Riaz Hussain S/o Raja Fayyaz Hussain, a resident of House No. 116, street No. 1-E, Mohallah Banaras Colony Rawalpindi.

On demand, he produced the auction documents pertaining to the Collectorate of Customs Appraisement, Customs House Karachi. Upon checking the data, no import and auction entry was found against the car.
