Islamabad Customs Intelligence impounds several TVs & mini Mazda truck

ISLAMABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Federal Board of Revenue Rawalpindi, has impounded Non-Duty-Paid smuggled LED colored TVs along with a mini Mazda truck worth over Rs2.2million.

According to details, on a tip-off, anti-smuggling staff of Rawalpindi Directorate Customs I&I intercepted a mini Mazda truck with registration No: LES-15 8155 near Mandra Toll Plaza Rawalpindi.

At the time of occurrence, one Azhar Nadeem S/o Aslam Bhatti, a resident of Khan Hotel Stop, Sheikupura Road, Gujranwala was driving the truck. The examination of the vehicle was conducted in the presence of the driver. The ant-smuggling staff recovered several Non-Duty-Paid smuggled LED Colored TVs, including foreign origin LED colored TV 4K 40J Slim 40”, foreign origin make believe full DH TV BE 4066 Dled Digital Colored TV 40”, foreign origin Slim Colored TV Series-9 32”, foreign origin LED Digital Colored TV Divx HD Slim TV 32” and foreign origin LED W 6550 LED Digital Colored TV Slim 24”.

On demand, driver of the mini Mazda truck failed to produce any evidence regarding the legal import and lawful possession of the recovered foreign origin miscellaneous LED colored TVs, so the anti-smuggling staff seized the LED TVs under Section 168 of the customs Act-1969.
