Islamabad Customs seizes 500g heroin from UK-bound parcel

ISLAMABAD: The Customs officials have seized 500g purified heroin from a UK-bound parcel.

The staff of Islamabad Customs Collectorate, on specific information of the Collector, seized a parcel containing 500g purified heroin at International Mail Office. The value of heroin in international market is worth Rs 5 million.

AFU Additional Collector Khawaja Khuram Naeem told Customs Today that the parcel of heroin, which was booked from Dadial Mirpur (Azad Kashmir), was concealed in a lady’s handbag. He said that an FIR has been lodged by Customs with I&P and investigation have been initiated. This is the sixth consecutive detection of narcotics by the Islamabad Customs staff posted at the International Mail Office, he added.

Kh Khuram said that Collector Dr Arslan Subuctageen appreciated his staff on its best performance and recommended cash reward.
