Islamabad dry port collects Rs1770m during 5 months of financial year 2016-17

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad dry port collected Rs1770 million under the head of custom duty during first five months of financial year 2016-17.

According to details told by Amanat Khan Assistant Collector dry port that dry port’s performance regarding business activity and collection of customs duty was satisfactory although dry port collected handsome business during first five months (July-November) of current financial year 2016-17.

As per the details of last five months he said that during month of November 2016-17 the dry port collected Rs284 million as customs duties and Rs1433.29 million under the head of import value. He added that during said period the outstanding performance of revenue collection under head of CD showed that business activity was excellent during said period.

Amanat Khan said that in October, FY16-17 the dry port collected Rs262 million under the head of customs duties as for as it received business at Islamabad dry port under head of import value Rs1040 million.

He said that during the month of September 2016-17 the dry port collected Rs289 million under head of customs duties and Rs1329 million under head the of import value.

He added that during month of August FY16-17 the dry port collected under head of customs duty amounting Rs276 million as for as dry port Islamabad received business under head of import value amounting Rs1248 million.

The assistant collector said that during month of July FY16-17 the dry port collected under head of customs duty amounting of Rs159 million as for as it received business during above said period under head of import value amounting Rs338 million. He said that dry port assigned targets under head of customs duty for last five months in that order, for month of November FY16-17 dry port assigned target of Rs245 million, October FY16-17 was Rs225 million, September Rs290 million, August Rs276 million and assigned target for month of July FY2016-17 was Rs119 million.

He said that dry port Islamabad exceeded all of its assigned targets of revenue collection under head of customs duty during first five months of financial year 2016-17.
