ISLAMABAD: Dry port Islamabad collected Rs375.691 million during first 15 days November in the wake of duty and taxes.
According to details told by Assistant Collector Amanat Ali Khan that performance of the department was satisfactory during first half of November, he added that dry port collected revenue in head of Customs duty (CD) Rs164.501 million.
He said that during said period dry port Islamabad collected Rs74.369 million as sales tax, Rs88.186 million as federal excise duty and Rs48.635 million in the wake of income tax during 1st November to 15th November.
He said that with the guidance of Collector Dr.Arslan Subutgeen and chief Collector North Tahira Sarwat Habib the dry port Islamabad enhanced it working capacity and business activity to achieve it given target for financial year 2016-17.
He said that during month of October 2016-17 the dry port collected CD amounting Rs262 millions, the target was given for revenue collection of CD for same month was 225 million in this way dry port surplus revenue collection in month of October 16-17 and showed good performance.
Amanat Ali added that the dry port collected customs duty was Rs289 millions, the target was given for revenue collection CD for same month was Rs290 million.
He told that during financial year August 2016-17 the dry port collected revenue through customs duty was Rs276 millions and target was given under value of Rs274 million, dry port again surpassed the given target in same month.
He said that in month of July 2016-17 the Islamabad dry port collected revenue through Customs Duty amounting Rs.159 millions, the target was given for revenue collection for same month was 119 million.
Amanat Ali said that customs staff of dry port Islamabad is working 24/7 to facilitate the businessmen that he has ordered all the dry port staff to make aptitude with the business persons polite and humble.
