Islamabad Dry Port earns Rs317m CD in June

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Dry Port (IDP) earned Rs317 million under the head of customs duty during the month of June 2017-18.

Sources o told Customs Today that IDP was assigned Rs584.79 million revenue collection target under head of customs duty for month of June FY17-18, while it earned Rs317 million under the same head till 29th of June FY17-18.

Sources said that IDP earned Rs451.68 million under head of CD during correspondence month of June FY2016-17 which demonstrated that IDP performance was better during same correspondence period against current month of June FY17-18.

Sources added that IDP collected-52% less revenue against assigned revenue collection target for month of June FY17-18 under head of CD; whereas, IDP comparatively showed better performance with 42% growth during the same correspondence period against current June 2017-18.

Sources said that IDP assigned huge revenue collection target for month of June FY17-18 which was hard to achieve whereas the staff of IDP tried its level best to show best performance. Sources added that during last two months due to stick administrative measures taken by higher authorities of IDP various importers of fabric shifted their business from IDP to other customs stations.
