Islamabad Dry Port gets more revenue spinners

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Dry Port got another revenue spinner the same as imported vehicles while kitchen appliances and food products have also been included along imports of old and new auto parts.

Deputy Collector Wajid Zaman, talking Customs Today, said that assigned customs duty (CD) target for month of June is very high while if the IDP achieve quarter amount out of assigned target, it will be considered satisfactory.

He added that during the month of June 2016-17, the IDP got advances to achieve the assigned revenue target under head of CD; whereas, this time it is not in hurry to get advances to achieve assigned revenue collection target.

He said that IDP was been assigned Rs586 million of revenue collection target while past financial year during same period the IDP was assigned around Rs450 millions under head of CD. He added that the IDP is trying to get excellent results against assigned revenue collection target for this month of financial year 2017-18.

He optimistically said that new importers are arriving here with new imported items like kitchen home appliances, tiles, imported vehicles as well as food, these items can cause boost up of revenue collections.
