Islamabad dry port receives Rs353m CD from 1st to 30th of May

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Dry Port collected Rs353million customs duty during 1st to 30th of May of Financial Year FY2016-17.

According to dry port sources, CD target has been revised which is Rs384million. The source said the dry port will remain open till 6: 00pm instead of announced office timings of 2: 00pm during Ramazan.
The Islamabad dry port collected Rs218million CD during initial 22 days of May 16-17 whereas the IDP did Rs328.00million during the same period of corresponding Financial Year 2015-16.

The collection is lesser during the initial 22 days against the same period of corresponding year as transporters refused to carry goods from ports to the markets after the ban. The containers stood loaded at the Karachi International Container Terminal and Pakistan International Container Terminal.
Sources added that the dry port collected Rs3006million CD during 1st July to 22nd May FY2016-17 whereas the IDP received Rs2382million during the same period of corresponding FY15-16.
During April FY16-17, IDP earned Rs333.874million CD while it generated Rs221million during the same period of FY15-17. The IDP got Rs302million CD during the month of March 2016-17 against the allocated target of Rs293.00million whereas the dry port generated Rs285million Customs Duty against the earmarked target of Rs230million during February FY2016-17.
