Islamabad dry port surpasses customs duty target by Rs 2m

ISLAMABAD: The customs surpassed target of customs duty at Islamabad dry port by Rs 2 million, as it collected Rs 686 million against the set target of 684 million during first quarter (July-September) of current fiscal year 2016-17.

The customs officials showed excellent performance during the said period and achieved the target set by the Islamabad Customs collector.

The dry port also achieved the target of Rs 119 million during July of running fiscal year, while it surpassed revenue collection target of Rs 20.39 by collecting Rs 98.428 million during same corresponding period of last year 2015-16.

Similarly, during August 2016, the target of customs duty was Rs 276 million, while it collected Rs 278 million and surpassed the target. The dry port generated Rs 170.956 million against the target of Rs 104.7 million during corresponding period of last year.

It bagged Rs 289 million in wake of customs duty against the assigned target of Rs 289 million during September 2016, while the collection stood at Rs 154.234 million against Rs 134 million target during September 2015.
