Islamabad High Court to hear case filed against RTO

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday will hear a seeking realization of Rs 500 million from the Regional Tax Office (RTO). Justice Aamer Farooq of the IHC will hear the case filed by M/S Huawai Technologies Private Limited.

The company had made party to RTO officers, Commissioner Inland Revenue (Zone-IV) and Deputy Inland Revenue Enforcement Unit, (Zone-IV), Islamabad.

The petitioner had challenged freezing of its bank accounts containing Rs 500 million which was obtained by the tax department. The company had sought end to freezing of its bank account and recovery of the said amount.

The company further had prayed the court to enforce a legal remedy against the tax department while awarding the appellant an interim stay on tax department order dated December 12, 2015, under which company’s bank account were frozen.
