Islamabad High Court will hear two tax references today

ISLAMABAD: A single bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear a couple of tax references on Friday (today) seeking restrictions over FBR’s field offices regarding the recovery of outstanding tax amounts.

The bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq would hear the cases filed by M/s Linkdotnet Telecom Limited and Pakistan and M/s LMKT (Private) Limited.

M/S Linkdotnet Telecom Limited had filed petition against officers of LTU, Islamabad and ATIR. It had prayed the court to direct ATIR on deciding its appeal at the earliest and sought court’s orders regarding restricting LTU from recovering outstanding tax amount of Rs 98,896,352 along with default surcharge of Rs 30,526,036 from company’s bank accounts.

M/s LMKT Private Limited had filed petition against officers of RTO, Islamabad and ATIR. It had prayed the court to direct ATIR on deciding its appeal at the earliest and sought court’s orders regarding restricting RTO from recovering outstanding tax amount of Rs 31,100,343 from company’s bank accounts.
