RAWALPINDI: Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Commerce Department in collaboration with Bank Alfallah organized an Islamic Banking customer awareness programme with an objective to enable the students to understand the main principles and practices of different modes of Islamic financing for industry and commerce.
Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr Samina Amin Qadir was the chief guest while Tariq Ali Khan, Regional Business Head, Islamic Banking Group, Mufti Owais Ahmed Qazi, Resident Shariah Board Member, Ali Raza Nemati, Unit Head Islamic Banking, Learning and Core Development Division were the guest speakers of the seminar.
Addressing the seminar Ali Raza explained the difference between Islamic and conventional banking. He said that basic fundamentals of Islamic banking are related to Shariah and it is ethical banking without interest.
Mufti Owais Ahmed briefly explained the Shariah compliance and highlighted importance of Islamic banking. He also focused on building consumer knowledge, trust and confidence.
At the end, Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir presented the university souvenir to the guests and hoped that after attending the session the students will be able to understand the concept of Islamic banking.
