FRANCE: An astronaut from the International Space Station has captured a beautiful display of the Aurora Borealis at the same time as the sunrise over Earth.
Astronaut Scott Kelly filmed the video of the Aurora Borealis (also known as the Northern Lights) and posted it on Twitter yesterday.
The video also shows the Space Station travelling over Earth heading toward the sunrise.
The clip was posted to celebrate the 141 day mark of Kelly’s journey through space, reports British newspaper the Telegraph.
The Aurora lights are sparked by explosions on the Sun’s surface that launch charged particles into space.
Meanwhile back in New Zealand Tai Ward-Holmes captured this beautiful picture of the Aurora Australis in Queenstown.
