ROME: In December 2015 Ukrainian exports of sorghum reached 28.1 KMT, which is 36% more than in December 2014. Total volume exported since the beginning of the current MY is 4.5% less than over the same period of last season (58 KMT against 60.8 KMT in October-December of 2014/15 MY).
Italy was the key buyer of Ukrainian sorghum over the period under review. The country was main importer last season as well. The share of Italian purchases since the beginning of the current season is 52 KMT, which is 90% of total exported volume in the current season. One of the main buyers of the previous season – Turkey – decreased its purchases to 1.5 KMT this season against 8.3 KMT in October-December of 2014/15.
