DUBAI: The trade between the Jebel Ali Free Zones (JAFZA) and Japan grew 36 per cent in the past five years to reach Dh2.7 billion in 2015, according to Sultan Ahmad Bin Sulayem, CEO and Chairman of DP World and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation.
He said in a statement that Japan is a key trade partner to Jafza and that it has become a launching pad for re-exporting the Japanese goods and products to regional countries. The number of Japanese companies operating in Jafza has exceeded 105, Bin Sulayem stated.
