Jakhrani appreciates reduction in transfer, token fees of vehicles

KARACHI: Department of Excise and Taxation PS Javed Jakhrani while appreciating the government measure to decrease the fee of token, vehicle transfer and withholding tax hope that after this relief people will deposit more tax in future.

He said before the announcement of Budget 2015-16 we started many campaign against defaulting vehicles and pursue them to deposit tax but majority of owners complaints against heavy fee amount. He said that this is the main reason behind that people prefer to drive vehicles on open letters instead of transferring the same to their name.

He said that due to this practice a decrease was witnessed on vehicles purchases and sales.  Javed Jakhrani said that in past small show room owners demanded withdrawal of withholding tax. He further said that in future Department of Excise and Taxation will start a campaign in which we announce the latest facilities provided by the government.

He said that we will ask the people to transfer vehicles on their names instead of driving them on open letter through this measures the vehicle will be transferred to their name and secondly government will generate revenue.
