ST JAMES: Two firearms and several rounds of ammunition were Sunday seized during an operation on Campbell’s Lane in St James.
The police say no arrests were made in connection with the seizure.
Reports from the Freeport police are that about 10:50 pm, a joint police/military team was in the area when men were seen acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion.
On their approach, the police say that a gun battle ensued.
After the shooting subsided, one 9mm pistol, one Tanfoglio .40 pistol and 21 9mm rounds of ammunition were seized.
The police say investigations are continuing.
