ST ANDREW: The St Andrew South police have reported that three illegal firearms along with several rounds of ammunition were seized and two men arrested.
A team of officers was reportedly on operation in Riverton City, Kingston when the search of an area revealed one Marksman Beretta pistol. No arrest was made in connection with the seizure.
Another team of officers reportedly stopped and searched a man during an operation in the Canewood Crescent area of Washington Gardens, Kingston 20. The search revealed one 9mm Beretta pistol with a magazine containing eight 9mm rounds.
The third seizure occurred on Nelson Road, Kingston 13 when a group of officers on foot patrol allegedly accosted a man who they say was acting suspiciously. A search of his person revealed one Taurus 9mm pistol and a magazine containing five 9mm rounds. The man was arrested.
