Japan’s 141yrs MIZUHO Bank to open branches in Pakistan

KARACHI: Japan’s MIZUHO Bank Limited is opening its branches in Pakistan. It is the world’s largest financial institution. Asia & Oceania Division Senior Manager Hisanori Matsubayashi informed at Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He said that Mizuho Financial Group was the world’s largest full-service financial conglomerates with offices in over 30 countries and having banking experience of 141 years. Although Mizuho Bank has offices in various cities of India but the bank was looking forward to further expanding its operations in this region by opening offices in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, he added.

Leaders of JETRO Mission, Nobuyuki NAGASAWA, Director Daiichi Jitsugyo, while highlighting the purpose of their visit to Karachi, said that members of JETRO mission are keen to undertake joint ventures with their Pakistani counterparts as Pakistan, being a developing country, offers immense opportunities for undertaking joint ventures and trade enhancement in various sectors of the economy. It may be noted that a high powered mission from Japan under the aegis of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Tuesday visited the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) to hold business-to-business (B2B) meetings with KCCI members with an objective to explore the potential of Pakistani market and discuss the possibilities of undertaking joint ventures.

JETRO Mission, which was led by Mr. Nobuyuki NAGASAWA, Director Daiichi Jitsugyo and Mr. Osamu HISAKI, Country Director JETRO Karachi, comprised of Mr. Yuhei TOSAKA, Mr. Munetaka Kamiya, Mr. Shuichi HATAKEYAMA, Ms. Rie Mihara, Mr. Hisanori Matsubayashi, Mr. Motoki Murai, Ms. Xue Feng, Mr. Yukihiro Uehara, and Mr. So KITAMI whereas President KCCI, Iftikhar Ahmed Vohra, Vice President KCCI, Agha Shahab Ahmed Khan and KCCI Managing Committee members were also present at the meeting. JETRO Mission represented various businesses including machinery trading, consumer products, precision cutting tools, fluid coupling, machine tools, sanitary wares, banking, and aftermarket parts sales.
