Jhang ASO seizes big quantity of non duty paid cloth, tyres

JHANG: The Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Jhang city seized illegally imported foreign origin chiffon cloth weighting 5500 kilogramstTyres with tubes made in China, low quality apples and Hino truck being used for smuggling transportation.

Sources told Customs Today, that taking action on a tip off Faisalabad Assistant Collector Shah Samad Hamadani directed the Jhang ASO to conduct a raid. The raiding team seized the above-mentioned items near Bypass Bhakkar Road Jhang. The market value of smuggled items is Rs1,42,50000 involving duty and taxes Rs3002333. The ASO team also arrested driver of the vehicle who was identified as Naik Muhammad.

The raiding partly included Superintendent Tanveer Raza Naqvi, Inspectors Asghar Mehdi Naqvi, Mujuhid Abbas, Sepoys Zulfiqar Ali Wahlla, Zulifqar Ali Awan and Atta Muhammad. Further investigations are still in progress.
