Jhang ASO seizes foreign origin Rani Juice during crackdown

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO)  Jhang has seized 4,800 bottles of foreign origin Rani Juice packed in 200 crates made in Iran. The expiry date of seized Rani Juice is 5-3-2017 while the market value of the juice is Rs 288,000 involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 54,682.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan informed Anti-Smuggling Organization Jhang about the smuggling of Rani juice. After receiving this information, Deputy Collector immediately constituted a raiding team comprising Saeed Akhtar Joiya (superintendent), Munir Ahmad, Shoukat Khan (inspector), Ghulam Abbas (driver), Muhammad Ajmal, Ahmad Baksh, Ghulam Sarwar Shah (sepoys),

The ASO team intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no. TLX- 517 at New Jhang Lahore Goods Faisalabad Road Jhang. During thorough checking of the vehicle, the ASO team impounds 4,800 bottles of Rani Juice. That smuggled Iranian Juice was being transported from Karachi to Jhang.

The ASO team asked the owner of the juice who was identified as Malik Sohail son of  Malik Shafique to provide legal documents regarding possession of juice, but he failed to produce the same. After his failure, the ASO team seized the juice and registered a case against the accused persons.
