Jhang ASO seizes smuggled goods worth Rs46.39m

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization seized smuggled goods worth Rs46.39 million with assistance of Local police.

Additional Collector Ghulam Nabi Kamboh while talking with Customs Today said that Collector Fayaz Anwar directed his staff to curb the smuggling attempts in the region and adopt comprehensive strategy in this regard.

3,000 Iran-bound containers stranded at Karachi port as Hormuz tensions disrupt shipping

The ASO team under the supervision of Superintendent Anjum sheraz conducted different operations in Faisalabad division areas and recovered huge quantity of smuggling goods.

Acting upon credible information received from the informer ASO Jhang intercepted a 22 wheeler trailer bearing registration no: TLD-933 in Shorkot City near Shorkot Interchange of M-4 Motorway.

The trailer was loaded with different foreign origin non-duty paid goods

The ASO team asked the driver to produce documents regarding the legal import of the items but he could not prove anything lawful. So the team seized the goods under the customs by laws.

A case was registered against the accused and sent to the customs adjudication for further legal action. The ASO deposited the confiscated goods in Faisalabad Division State Warehouse.
