JMW revenue increases 17.8%

LONDON: Revenue to the end of November was £11.8 million compared to £9.9 million this time last year. This puts the firm well on course to achieve more than its £20 million target by the financial year end.

A Manchester law firm is celebrating after revenue shot up 17.8 per cent. JMW Solicitors LLP announced turnover for the first first seven months of their financial year had risen by more than 17 per cent.

The financial year of 2014/2015 was the most successful year in the history of JMW, following several other years of excellent performance as Income at the firm was up from £17.2m to £19.4m. Also looking at the firm’s performance over the past five years, fee income has increased by 90 per cent from £10.2m to £19.4m.

Head count at JMW has also just hit 300 with the firm more than doubling in size over the last five years, increasing from 140 Partners and staff.

In the past year the firm has recruited at every level with 66 new recruits joining and only 26 leavers. There have been seven significant hires at Partner level including Mike Blood as Head of Corporate from Brabners, Mike Rainford from Burton Copeland and Derek Millard-Smith from Hill Dickinson who joined the Business Crime and Regulation team respectively, meanwhile Liz Cotton joined Employment and Warren Martin, Tom Cressey and Majid Mahmood all joined the Commercial Property team.

Senior partner Joy Kingsley said: “These exceptional results show that our strategy of providing a full service to our clients, our commercial acumen and continuing recruitment of those who wish to bring their clients has been a very successful for us.

“JMW has doubled its revenue, profit and staff numbers over the last five years which makes the firm stand out amongst our competitors. The Results are a credit to the great team we have at JMW.”
