AMMAN: Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, on Tuesday, voiced the government’s desire to support Jordanian exports to Iraq due to border closure by the Iraqi side as a result of the serious security situations in the neighboring country.
Ensour’s remarks came as he led a meeting to address challenges Jordanian exports face due to the recent Iraqi decision which led to this issue.
He said that his government is in contact with Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to alleviate obstacles face Jordan’s exports through their territories, in order to guarantee the access of exports to the Iraqi market.
Ensour instructed competent bodies to provide Omari Customs Center, eastern of Amman, with equipment and personnel to promote its efficiency which will reflect positively on exports’ flow to the Gulf and Iraqi markets.
