K-Electric seeks increase in power tariffs for two quarters of 2019

KARACHI: K-Electric has requested the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to allow increases in power tariff by Rs1.377 per unit and Rs1.444 per unit on account of fuel adjustments for two quarters from April-June and July to September, 2019, respectively. NEPRA will conduct public hearing on March 4, 2020 on the petition of the K-Electric.

Likewise, the K-Electric has requested the monthly fuel price adjustments for six months (July to December) for the current fiscal year FY20.

In its petition for the monthly fuel price adjustments, K-Electric has requested an increase of Rs1.13 per unit for the month of July, Rs0.781 per unit increase for August and Rs0.404 for September.

However, the regulatory body has requested a decrease of Rs0.198 per unit for October, Rs1.901 reduction for November and Rs2.354 per unit for December.
